The concept for the new restaurant for Shogun is based on the Japanese art of origami. This art form is created by folding paper into intricate and delicate representations of birds and insects. The dramatic soaring roof planes and canted walls mimic the “dragon y” caricature. The design also takes advantage of the incredible views from its site on the bluff overlooking the hills of Fayetteville. The south side of the building engages this view with walls of glass and a terrace perched on the edge of the bluff. The 11,000 sq. ft. restaurant will incorporate Japanese Teppanyaki style tables, a sushi bar, a large, indoor/outdoor bar, and a second floor Skybar. In addition to an enclosed Japanese Zen Garden, there is a terrace with stone planters and a koi pond.
