Springdale Fire Station 2

Architecture
Municipal

The City of Springdale contracted with Miller Boskus Lack to design a prototypical live/work re station to be used throughout the City. Approximately 10,000 sq. ft., the re stations have three truck bays and professional support space equipped with the latest tools and technology. The living quarters are composed of eight individual bedroom/bathroom suites centered around communal living and dining areas.

The facade of the work areas is primarily constructed of glass and steel, to create a visual connection with the community and an inviting presence on the public street-front. Inversely, masonry is heavily used for the living quarters, to reflect traditional residential construction and the fire fighters’ need for privacy.
